If you want to create your own math fraction art project, this is how to do it:
Easy Math Fraction Art Project for Kids
- Construction paper
- Glue sticks
We decided to build our fractions based around squares. This made it easy to cut the paper and to discuss the fractions. We started by cutting a square in half and discussing how two halves make a whole. Next, we cut one of the halves in half again, creating quarter pieces. We then compared the quarter pieces with the half and whole. We continued to cut the pieces in half. For the most part, we kept all of the same fractions the same color (all purple paper in 1/8th size, for example).
Math Fraction Art Project Construction
Instruct children to glue the pieces of fraction paper into any desired design. Monkey and I worked together to create this bird design. Monkey also made another design, but Bo tore it into pieces before we could get a picture of it. Toddlers.
