How to Dye Easter Eggs (The Monkey Way)

Looking for creative Easter activities for kids? This fun and messy way of dyeing eggs will engage and delight kids of all ages.
                                                                                    Step 1: Collect Supplies

Not as amazing as dying eggs from beets or whatnot, but much faster. You will also need cups for the dyes and extras to decorate the eggs after they dry. Spoons to pick up the eggs are unnecessary. Newspaper or some other surface protector is a must.
Step 2: Boil Eggs and Prepare Dyes

While the eggs are cooking, follow the package directions to make the dyes. Usually it takes vinegar and water.
Step 3: Dye Eggs
Drop the eggs into the cups. No tools necessary. Crack about half the eggs. Prepare to get extremely messy. The longer you leave the eggs in, the darker the colors will get. Experiment with dying in multiple colors, dying stripes, adding writing with a clear wax crayon, or even putting glue on the egg.

Step 4: Dry Eggs
Place the eggs back into the egg carton to dry. Cardboard egg cartons are best because they absorb the little bits of liquid from the bottom of the eggs.
Step 5: Embellish Eggs
Add stickers, monster eyes, writing, or anything else you want. Crack half of the remaining eggs putting them into the baskets. Survey the damage in the kitchen. Dye will be everywhere.
