If you can’t tell already, we’re HUGE slime lovers here. We’ve tried over 100 slime recipes. Easter is approaching fast. Last year, we weren’t able to make as many Easter slime recipes as we wanted, but we did manage to make chick slime. This year, the fluffy white tails of bunnies have inspired us to make fluffy bunny tail slime!
Kids will love this super fun slime recipe that is as soft and squishy as a newborn baby (but a lot less dangerous to drop!).
The best part of this slime recipe is that it is less sticky than some other slime recipes, making clean up a breeze! This activity makes a fun Easter STEM activity as well!

WHAT IS EASTER SLIME ALL ABOUT?
Easter slime recipes are about more than just having fun with stretchy, slimy slime. Slime is a wonderful way to help children foster a love of science and chemistry. Slime is formed when a chemical reaction between materials in the glue and the boron in the laundry starch or borax. This reaction alters the chemical bond of the materials, combining them into long polymer chains. This process is similar to how most flexible plastics are made today.
Slime is also wonderful for kiddos who are sensory seeking, particularly for kids with SPD, autism, and ADHD.
We made a fluffy white slime for Easter because we thought it looked just like a fluffy cotton tail on a bunny! If you want to make your Easter slime lesson more educational, check out our list of Easter STEM activities, which has a free STEM challenge worksheet printable you can use alongside your slime. And our printable slime mats have an Easter page, too!

If you’re new to slime, definitely read our tips on how to make the perfect slime recipe every time. And if you need more help, check out these slime troubleshooting tips. If you’re in a bit of a rush though, just remember that brands matter when making slime. We will not make slime unless we have Elmer’s glue on hand, Good food coloring (that’s a brand we love), and Sta-flo laundry starch (unless we’re making an unusual slime recipe, like taffy slime). While there are other ways to make slime, like with Borax powder and baking soda (we’ve never gotten contact lens slime to work), laundry starch slime is by far our favorite, and we will always recommend using it above any other recipe.

WHAT YOU NEED TO MAKE FLUFFY BUNNY TAIL SLIME
Read on to learn how to make your very own fluffy bunny slime for Easter! Gather your supplies in advance to save any headaches when you’re trying to make it. You’ll also want to have a container (we’re fans of jars) to mix it in, a measuring cup, and a spoon or fork for mixing. Make cleanup easy by using disposable supplies.
SUPPLIES FOR BUNNY TAIL SLIME
For this recipe you will need:
- Elmer’s glue (white or clear)
- Sta-flo laundry starch
- Brown paper
- Bunny template
Elmer’s Liquid School Glue, Premium Clear, Washable, 1 Gallon, 1 Count – Great For Making SlimeBarbasol Original Thick and Rich Shaving Cream for Men, 10 Ounce, Pack of 6Purex Sta-Flo Concentrated Liquid Starch, 64 oz Bottle (2 Pack)
HOW TO MAKE FLUFFY BUNNY TAIL SLIME
Print the bunny template onto brown paper and cut it out. Laminate the bunnies so that you can reuse them.
In short, you’ll need glue, shaving cream, and laundry starch (you can also use contact solution, but make sure it contains an ingredient related to boron, or it won’t work!). Mix equal parts of glue and shaving cream. Add the starch a bit at a time, mixing until it forms into fluffy slime.
In some cases, you’ll get slime right away, and in others, you may have to add a bit more starch to the mixture. Mix with a fork or spoon until it gets thick, then you can keep mixing with your hands.
The slime is ready when it’s soft to the touch and no longer sticks to your hands.
Pull off a bit of the slime, then shape it into a fluffy bunny tail. Stick it onto the back of your bunny, and you’re done!
A WORD OF CAUTION WHEN MAKING BUNNY TAIL SLIME
Some people have reported greater skin irritation when making and playing with fluffy slime. When we use the Barbasol brand of shaving cream, we have no reaction, but when we’ve used other shaving cream brands, our hands have gotten a bit dry and red after a while. Always use your best judgement on when to stop with any slime recipe. If you notice redness, throw it out and try a different recipe (maybe this taffy slime!).
