A Day in the Life of Monkey and Bo (our homeschool day)

Monkey and Bo at play on a typical day.

Today I’m joining with the last week of the I Homeschool Network Not Back to School Blog Hop.

We haven’t started our homeschool officially for this year (school is on its way), but I suspect this year will go a lot like last year. Here is a typical day in our house:

5-7 AM: Bo wakes up and wants to eat. Bo goes back to bed.
9 AM: Everyone wakes up officially. We eat some breakfast, if we’re lucky. If we’re not, I have tons of work and we have to put breakfast on hold. Bo eats again.
10 AM: Monkey does 1-2 subjects in school (science, writing, grammar). Bo plays.
11 AM: We eat breakfast if we haven’t yet. I work and the girls play. Bo eats somewhere around now.
1 PM: Another couple of school subjects. Usually the less fun ones (math, reading). I work some more if Monkey can do any of her school independently. Bo naps.
3 PM: Bo eats. I try to wrap up work. Monkey does any remaining school. We eat some lunch.
5 PM: Chore time.
6 PM: We eat some food. Girls get to play.
8 PM: Getting ready for bed time.
9 PM: Bedtime for girls. Bo eats before sleeping. I finish any remaining work.
And that’s pretty much it! It’s really simple, but it seems to work all right for us.

What does a typical day in your school look like?
