Some of you have been back at school for almost a month now, but it is our first week back this week.
For me, transitioning back into school mode is a challenging problem that often results in power struggles and sometimes tears. It can be hard for children to return to a structured school routine, especially if you didn’t do much in the way of structured activities in the summer (which we didn’t).
I find that transitioning back into school mode with purpose and in gradual stages works out best for us. Here are my tips for transitioning back into the school year after a long break:
